SHOOTING STARS

Sean Hunter, callsign Ice, is a great pilot, his RIO Tom Clarke, Mustang, would do anything for him. Then there is Admiral Henderson who would do anything to make Ice’s life a complete misery after a training exercise caused the death of his son.

On a mission in Iraq Irish & Tex, an A-6 driver and his RIO, are hit and eject over the Gulf of Sidera after coming under fire from enemy forces. Ice and his wingman try to save them, but have to disobey direct orders and the rules of engagement. This earns Ice a court-martial. Ice finds himself cut off from everything he held dear, his career and friends.

With no chance of redemption Ice does what he knows best and starts up a jet training school.

Ten years later: The US government asks for his help, as a certain Middle East country friendly to the United States finds itself under imminent threat of invasion.

There is a distinct possibility of combat against Russian and North Korean forces, who support the aggressors in the conflict. The United States does not want to widen the dispute leaving Ice and his pilots their best option for stemming the tide of destruction. Upon arrival things go from bad to worse and Ice and his men find themselves outgunned and outnumbered. Flying the old jets assigned to them Ice, Mustang, Cobra and the team are the only ones standing between a rock and a hard place . . . and, possible redemption.
